How point-of-care blood screening works.
Linkor is designed to make point-of-care blood screening practical within a routine professional appointment.
Collect the sample
A small blood sample is collected by finger-prick or venous blood collection, in accordance with the professional setting, staff training, the approved workflow and the manufacturer’s instructions.
Prepare the test
The sample is prepared and processed using the required Linkor test kits in accordance with the standard operating workflow.
Run the analyser
The analyser processes the prepared samples and produces the screening results.
Review results
Screening results are typically available in approximately 15 minutes and should be reviewed by an appropriately trained healthcare professional alongside the individual’s clinical history, presentation and any other relevant information.
Designed for same-appointment conversations.
The benefit is not only speed. Screening results can be discussed while the patient is still present, allowing the healthcare professional to explain the findings and consider any appropriate next steps.
Typical screening settings
- Private health checks
- Vitamin D screening
- Cardio-metabolic screening
- Wellness and longevity assessments
- Screening within professionally governed weight-management services
- Additional screening information before treatment, where clinically appropriate
Screening results provided.
The results provide screening information relating to haematology, Vitamin D, glucose, lipid markers and calculated inflammatory indices.
| Category | Results | Practical relevance |
|---|---|---|
| Haematology | Full blood count, platelet count | Provides haematology screening information that may support onward clinical review or referral where appropriate. |
| Vitamin status | Vitamin D | Provides Vitamin D screening information that may support general health assessment and pre-treatment discussions. |
| Metabolic and lipid profile | Glucose, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides | Provides cardio-metabolic screening information that may support professional review, health advice or onward referral where appropriate. |
| Calculated inflammatory indices | Systemic immune-inflammation index, systemic inflammation response index | Provides calculated inflammatory-index information for appropriately trained professionals to interpret as part of the wider screening picture. These indices should not be used as standalone diagnostic markers. |
Linkor is intended to support blood screening performed by appropriately trained healthcare professionals. Results must be interpreted within the wider clinical context and do not replace clinical judgement, diagnostic investigations or laboratory testing where these are indicated.
