Linkor Signature
FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Common practical questions from pharmacies, dental clinics, medical clinics, hair restoration clinics and wellness clinics about point-of-care blood screening with Linkor.

The screening process
How long do results take?

Screening results are typically available in approximately 15 minutes, subject to correct sample collection, preparation and operation of the analyser.

What sample is required?

Linkor can use a small finger-prick capillary blood sample or a venous blood sample. The collection method should follow the provider's approved workflow, staff training and the manufacturer's instructions.

What results does Linkor provide?

The Linkor screening panel provides a full blood count, Vitamin D, glucose, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, platelet count, systemic immune-inflammation index and systemic inflammation response index.

Are all results provided during one appointment?

Yes. The full screening process can be completed during a single appointment using the required dedicated Linkor test kits.

What types of healthcare provider can use Linkor?

Linkor may be suitable for pharmacies, dental clinics, medical clinics, hair restoration clinics, wellness clinics and other appropriately governed professional screening services.

Can Linkor be used before treatment?

Linkor can provide additional screening information before treatment where clinically appropriate. It does not determine fitness for treatment or replace a full medical assessment.

Results and clinical governance
Is Linkor a diagnostic test?

No. Linkor is intended to support professional blood screening. Results do not replace clinical judgement, diagnostic investigations or laboratory testing where these are clinically indicated.

Who should interpret the results?

Results should be reviewed by an appropriately trained healthcare professional within the wider clinical context. Abnormal, unexpected or concerning results should be managed according to the provider's clinical governance, escalation and referral procedures.

What should happen if a result is abnormal or unexpected?

The result should be handled according to the provider's approved protocol. This may include discussing the result with the patient, repeat testing where appropriate, communication with the patient's general medical practitioner, onward referral or urgent escalation.

Can patients receive a report?

Yes. A screening result report can be provided, subject to the provider's consent, documentation and result-communication procedures. Results should be explained by an appropriately trained healthcare professional and recorded in the provider's normal records.

Are the inflammatory indices diagnostic markers?

No. The systemic immune-inflammation index and systemic inflammation response index are calculated screening indices. They should be interpreted by appropriately trained healthcare professionals as part of the wider screening picture and not used as standalone diagnostic markers.

Training and operation
How often is calibration needed?

The analyser requires calibration every 200 tests using a dedicated contactless calibration card.

Is routine maintenance required?

Routine maintenance requirements are limited under normal working conditions. Cleaning, checks and any maintenance should be carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Is staff training provided?

Implementation and staff training support is available and can cover sample collection, test preparation, analyser operation, infection control, documentation and result communication. Each provider remains responsible for ensuring that staff are appropriately trained, competent and authorised.

What governance documents are available?

Example consent wording, screening reports, workflow documents, communication templates and standard operating procedure support can be provided. These materials should be reviewed and adapted to the provider's own professional, governance and local requirements.
